We had thought about adding to our family through adoption for the past few years, but we were never sure how we would be able to do it financially. We decided that maybe later on in life we would be ready adopt and we starting trying for our 2ndbiological child. After trying for quite a while we found out our only option for another biological child would be to do in vitro. We decided that wasn’t for us and we felt instead that this was God’s way of assuring us that now was the right time to adopt.
Although we were scared to start the process because we weren’t sure how we were going to pay for it, we chose to trust that God would provide for us. He has proven to be incredibly faithful and we have always had the money we needed when we needed it. It was such a blessing to get a grant from Katelyn’s Fund and we will be forever grateful for the assistance they have given us. We have also really enjoyed going to the support meetings and being able to meet families who “get” what we’re going through and understand the roller coaster ride of adoption. It is so nice to know that there is a group of people praying for you and that they are there to encourage and rejoice with you.
We are a waiting family and anticipate the day when we will get the call that we can meet our new little one! We know that God will bring us the right baby at the right time and we are thankful that we will have the support of Katelyn’s Fund when that day comes.
