We reserve Tuesdays to share stories from some of our grant recipients. May you be blessed by their stories….
“Hey, hey, I’m going to be a big brother.” Those, the words of a 2 year old named Jacob to a restaurant manager on a spring 2011 evening that took his mom and dad by incredible surprise! No, we had no plans to re-insert our name into the hat as a waiting adoptive family. But God did! And with these words, a seed had been planted in our minds to begin spinning the adoption wheel once more.
With joy, in 2008, we welcomed Jacob into our family through an adoption plan. Now again, just a few weeks after that restaurant exclamation, we made the decision to again grow our family. We had been through the valleys of infertility, only to see the peaks that God would provide through adoption. As we traverse the landscape that is adoption, we have been forced to be reliant on God for his providence in building our family. In the end, there is very little in life that is better than receiving that phone call to say that we have been chosen to be parents. In October of 2011, we received that phone call for a yet-to-be-born child. We now eagerly anticipate the placement of our second child, with a birth day to be celebrated this upcoming May.
We give thanks to Katelyn’s Fund for assisting us in our adoption funding. We share in the joys that Katelyn’s Fund has provided to our family. Katelyn’s Fund has been and will continue to be an important part in our ongoing appreciation for this gift of adoption. We enjoy the company and care that the members give to us. Special events such as summer picnics, the fall auction, and Orphan Sunday are events that our family enjoys participating in that supplement the Sioux Center Support Group meetings. Thank you for the support and prayer that you have given to our family.
