We would like to share the stories of some of our grant recipients.  Enjoy and be encouraged as you hear their stories.

Our adoption journey began about 2 ½ years ago when we began the paperwork process.  Prior to that, we went through different infertility treatments, but throughout all of it God was working in our hearts to consider the path of adoption.  When we announced to our oldest daughter Kyra we would be adopting, she was very excited about becoming a big sister.   One of her comments was “I think we should get twins, a boy and a girl.  A boy for grandma B. (because there are no grandsons on that side of the family) and a sister for me to play with.”  Nathan and I laughed as she told us and thought that would be crazy.  As we reflect back on that conversation God was working in our hearts and minds to be open to the idea of twins.  Nearly a year and a half later we received a call that a mother was interested in meeting with us regarding the adoption of her twin boy and girl, two and half years old.  We prayed a lot for God’s guidance and He continued to open doors for us to welcome Japen and Jasmine into our home on April 12, 2012.  They are a joy to have in our home.  Japen is all boy.  He enjoys driving his trucks, getting dirty in the garden, and biking on his John Deere bike.  Jasmine likes to dress up, take care of her dolls, and make food in her kitchen.  Kyra is also so proud of her new brother and sister.  We are adjusting to being a family of five.   It’s a big change but very fun.

We are grateful to Katelyn’s Fund for the financial assistance in our adoption but even more grateful for the prayer support Katelyn’s fund is providing.  We are so thankful to know that we are being lifted up in prayer as we bend to a family of five.
