“Everything that you consider dear and worth doing I will see.”
“I will see you as you bow your knees to pray. I will see you as you show compassion. I will see you as you extend grace and I will learn to do the same.”
“I will notice when you hold me close, when you read to me, when you take the time to spend with me, even as I grow and become more dependent…I will need you. Don’t ever think that I do not need you, even when I act like I don’t. I’m trusting you to protect me, discipline me, teach me the ways of the Lord. I’m trusting you to trust God with me.”
“Pray for me, teach me to pray, teach me to worship. Teach me truth.Teach me to be a truth teller.”
“I don’t need you as my friend, I need you as my parent. I need you to tell me no sometimes. I need you to discipline me, teach me that it’s OK to fail, to not always have my way, or that I will always win.”
“I am fearfully and wonderfully made.” Don’t let me forget that truth. Don’t let me forget that I was woven together by the Father’s hand’s for His purpose, for His glory.
Don’t forget that the most important gift you will ever give me is teaching me His Word, teaching me about my Creator.
“I’m yours, on loan. God has entrusted my care to you…I trust you.”
For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Psalm 139:13,14
