I am making a conscious effort this year, to fight the feeling of busy. I may be busy….but I don’t want to feel busy. Know what I mean? This is my second week coming up with ways to rebel against busy. I thought I’d share what I’ve come up with so far, in case you wish to join me!
Assign mundane tasks to your children, even if the result doesn’t look exactly the way you want. Delegate!
Make a list of 5 things you need to do in the morning….then only circle the top 3 and cross out the rest.
Ask a friend or relative to help, i.e. having my mom make my soup for the church supper.
Take a nap.
Exercise most days, even for just 30 minutes.
Play festive music while you fix dinner, and during clean-up. Even just a song or two.
Here’s one from last year that I’m bringing back: If you are in the car and a song is playing on the radio…don’t cut the engine until the song finishes. Listen to the entire song.
Make a date with your sweetie….go to the movies, or out for dinner, or both.
End the day with a prayer of thanks for everything you can think of, in Jesus name.
