“Surely the Lord is in this place, and I was not aware of it.”
Genesis 28:16
These are words of Jacob as he ran for his life. Aren’t they so true to us humans? How many times have I been able to say these same words to myself on the other side of a trial or suffering? God was here, and I didn’t even know it!
In the midst of struggles or in extended periods of waiting for God to “show up” in my life it can be so easy to think that God has abandoned me. My mind can start telling me that he has His hands busy with something else and he has forgotten about my plight. We must remember that even when we can’t see him, he is at work for those who love him.
