We are the Harveys from South Carolina. We are finishing up our second adoption from China and hope to travel at the end of June. We brought our daughter home in February of 2014. Shortly after coming home, we felt strongly that we were to go back to China, this time for a son. A friend of ours who was adopting from the same agency that we had previously used, told us about a little boy on their waiting child list. Even though we knew in our hearts that adopting is what we were to do again, we were scared. We were scared to start the paperwork again so soon. We were also scared about the finance part of it. After much prayer and soul searching, we told our agency that we wanted to move forward with this little guy. It was a very nerve wracking process to complete the first steps because we just weren’t confident in what we were doing. We quickly completed each step and prayed ourselves through it. After we said yes, and China gave us our preliminary approval, we had an overwhelming sense of peace. Once we reached that point, we just moved forward to get him home as quickly as possible. We had lots of bumps in the road on almost every part of the process. We know that we were encountering spiritual warfare but it just made our faith stronger. As we were getting towards the end of our process, we had a large amount of money due. All along I had not really worried about where the money would come from for each step. I just remembered that God had called us to this and that he would make a way. Sometimes I had to remind myself of this many times when fear and worry would try to creep in. I heard about Katelyn’s Fund from a couple of friends. They told me how wonderful this organization is and how nice the people are. We decided to apply and prayed that the members would see our hearts for adoption and know that we would be very much appreciative of any amount of money that we were given. We got an email about having a conference call with them and we were overjoyed. We were able to speak with the board members one night through Skype. This group of individuals prayed with us and for us and we were very thankful and humbled by that. They were the nicest and caring group of individuals. Even though we were nervous, we felt as though we gave a good picture of our family and our hearts for adoption. Not long after the call, we found out they had granted us money to go towards our adoption fees. This was truly a blessing to our family and took some weight off of our shoulders. We are so thankful to receive this gift and admire this organization and what they stand for.
