Testimony Tuesday is dedicated to the stories of our grant recipients.  May you be encouraged by their stories…

“For no matter how many promises God has made, they are 'Yes' in Christ. And so through him the 'Amen' is spoken by us to the glory of God.”- 2 Corinthians 1:20

I have been studying about faith… really about God's faithfulness. His faithfulness to me is the reason for my faith in him. He is totally sovereign and totally believable. He has proven to me over and over that this is true. Therefore, I am able to say 'amen' to the events in my life over the past few months. 'Amen' means: Let it be so. Yes. It is true. I comprehend this and I am in agreement with this.

Brent and I started our second adoption process last spring. Adoption has been a part of our lives for a long time. Even before we were married, we talked about the possibilities of adopting children someday. Our daughter was born to us in the summer of 2005 and we began the journey of adoption a few years later. We brought our son home from Ethiopia in the spring of 2008. Last spring, we felt God's faithful guidance nudging us to begin a domestic adoption process. We proceeded in faith in this adoption knowing that he has great plans for our family. In October we received a referral for a baby girl due January 1. We were delighted… and the baby's mother wanted to meet us! We gladly accepted her invitation and feel so privileged to have met her. It is a experience that I will hold dear to my heart forever.

Over the next few months, we anxiously prepared our home for the arrival of a baby girl. However, about two weeks before the baby was due, her mother decided to parent. We were terribly sad… but not broken. By God's grace we were able to say “Amen”. Brent and I were both able to say to Him, “We agree with you. You have a perfect plan. We will be patient and wait on you.”

The Holy Spirit ministered to us a portion of his peace. I know that God has made many promises not only to our family but also to all of his children around the world who are waiting for a family. The words echo in my ears, “I know the plans I have for you…” I can hear him saying it to me and to all his children. He has wonderful plans and it is our privilege to wait and pray for his perfect plan to unfold in our lives.

We are so thankful for the prayer support, financial support and encouragement that Brent and I have received from Katelyn's Fund. It has been an outstanding blessing in our lives! Without such a ministry, the journey of adoption would be a very rough and lonely road. God has equipped the founders and board members of Katelyn's Fund to minister so beautifully to so many families and words can not express how grateful we are for this ministry.
