Adoption had been on our hearts for years, but it always felt like a “one day, maybe” conversation. The only thing holding us back was the financial burden—it seemed overwhelming. After getting married, we spent nearly four years living with our parents, saving every penny to buy a house. The idea of coming up with the money needed for an adoption felt impossible.
After being told by doctors that it would be unlikely we could have biological children, rather than pursuing IVF or further testing, we felt strongly that God was leading us toward adoption. So, despite our fears, we took a leap of faith, trusting that God would provide. And He did. Through His provision, we were able to fund roughly half of our first adoption, with the rest coming from our personal savings. That step of faith led us to our beautiful, sweet daughter. She has filled our lives with immeasurable joy!
Over the following months, we watched her transform – healthy, happy, thriving and so full of life. Seeing the incredible impact adoption had on her life and ours, we knew without a doubt that we wanted to adopt again. This time, we had little savings to rely on, but once again, we trusted in God’s goodness. It was during this process that we discovered several adoption grants we hadn’t known about before, one of them being Katelyn’s Fund. Receiving this grant has been such a blessing. It is playing a vital role in helping us bring home another child from India…a child in need of a family, and a sister for our daughter.
By God’s grace, we pray they will share a lifelong bond. Without organizations like Katelyn’s Fund and the generosity of donors with a heart for adoption, families like ours would struggle to make this journey possible. Your support doesn’t just change our lives – it changes the lives of children who desperately need the love of a family. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
We firmly believe it’s impossible to go through the adoption process without seeing God uniquely at work, constantly revealing Himself in ways we never expected. From the very beginning, we have been reminded time and time again that so much of this journey is completely out of our control. The long months of waiting, watching paperwork move at an agonizingly slow pace and waiting on government approvals, have tested our patience. But in those moments of discouragement, our daily reminder to each other has been: “God is in control, and His timing will lead us to the child He has planned for us.”
