When we stayed at our daughter’s orphanage in Manila during her entrustment process in 2022, our hearts were broken for all the kids who were praying for a family. We met with, loved on, and spent much time with so many amazing children, and we couldn’t believe they were just sitting here without a family. We made the decision to adopt from the same orphanage our daughter was at a young man who we knew was going to be aging out in 2024.

We leaned into God and prayed over it, and it has been evident and clear that this young man was destined to be part of our family. We have adopted internationally three times over the last 8 years, and while we can provide a safe, secure, and loving home for all our biological and adopted children, we simply couldn’t afford to bring them home through what can be an expensive adoption process. Without Katelyn’s Fund and other amazingly generous donors and organizations, we wouldn’t have our own family. We are eternally grateful for the role that all the Katelyn’s fund founders, board members, and donors have done for us and so many other adoptive families!”

God has shown his promises to support us in so many ways through this journey. Each time financial, emotional, or physical support is needed by us, the answer always seems to find its way to us – through a grant, a prayer or phone call from a friend at just the right time or even a friend who stopped with a meal for our family on a day which was total chaos and we weren’t able to prepare something for dinner. It’s small moments and big moments when we see his plan working  – and sometimes we question what we are doing and what He is doing, but we know He is working it all for our good!
