We welcomed our biological daughter in 2023, and we knew shortly after she arrived that we were being called to adopt again. Our first adoption from South Korea was finalized in 2021. But, South Korea has been essentially closed for international adoptions due to a change in adoption structure within Korea that will occur in 2025. Because there were no open doors to South Korea with any agency, we had a phone call scheduled with a local adoption attorney in Chattanooga, TN to start the domestic adoption process. The day before that phone call was scheduled, an adoption agency contacted us seeking families who had previously adopted from South Korea and would be open to considering a child with special needs. (Wow, God!) We went through the pre-approval process and were accepted! Our home study was expedited and completed in 5 weeks, and it was finalized and sent to South Korea. Only God could open this door, but He has more mountains to move for us. Katelyn’s Fund has been a sweet, precious gift to us in this season. We walked away from our grant interview feeling like we had been poured into and loved on so well. Our grant interview was one of the most encouraging adoption conversations we have encountered, and we truly feel like Katelyn’s Fund is working for the Lord for His glory and His purposes. We are so grateful that Katelyn’s Fund is able to come alongside us in our story and help us meet the financial needs of this adoption.
We are watching in real-time that when we trust and obey, He will move mountains for us. (wow, God!) Our adoption story has been quite unexpected and has unfolded in a way that only God could have done.
