Today I choose to be thankful for my busy, busy days. I had a list of things I wanted to accomplish today. None of them are getting done.
- I am thankful for my husband who has talents in theater and can participate in our church madrigal dinner……and practice hours and hours on end for it.
- I am thankful for grocery stores full of food and the ability to go shopping and buy what we need for the week ahead.
- I am thankful that my teens have jobs in town and I can bring them to work…..and bring them lunch at work.
- I am thankful that our movie theater has free movies during the holiday season……and for a second showing when the first one is “sold out” the moment we get there.
- I am thankful for my dishwasher that runs at least twice every day……and the occasional helping hands that help me load and unload it.
- I am thankful for my washing machine (super-sized) and clothing that we can wash and wear.
- I am thankful for the invitation to go to a fund-raising dinner event tonight for Royal Family Kids Camp to help pay for the cost of running the camp for foster children this summer.
- I am thankful for the recommendations given for advent devotionals……and that I could download John Piper’s Desiring God devotional.
- I am thankful that as I sit here writing, big snowflakes are starting to fall and I am watching them from inside my warm house, with my littlest kids in the room and my 2 dogs napping nearby….the Christmas tree all lit up…..
- I am thankful to practice thankfulness which yields Peace in the economy of Heaven.
