My husband and I have adopted four children two and under and when we go on walks, we literally stop traffic.  People literally slow down to stare at our family.  (I’m sure those who have adopted know what I mean!).   Anytime we go anywhere, people feel the liberty to stop us and tell us we are crazy for adopting four kids who are so young.

But the truth is that we are not crazy.  It is not crazy to trust in the Lord and lean on him for daily provision, grace, and endurance.  The following verse is THE reason we felt at liberty to go ahead and adopt all four babies:

2 Corinthians 9:8 And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.

We are not going to stand at Christ’s throne and have him say, “You guys tried too hard.  You cared too much about the orphans.  Your desires to help others far surpassed my grace to enable you to do so.”  No, the Lord abounds in grace and he is able to shower us with and all the grace we need as we seek to love and care for four young children.  He is committed to being the fuel that empowers us to do many wonderful things.

We praise the Lord for his daily grace to our family and pray that you too would set your feet firm on this promise of God and do many crazy impossible things so that the Lord gets all the credit.
