Orphans in the Democratic Republic of Congo need our fervent prayer.  Many of you know the dire situation surrounding adoptions in this country, developing over the past months.  There are currently over 100 legally adopted children with families in America waiting for the DRC to release the exit documents needed to travel home.  Some American families have actually taken custody in DRC and have been “stuck” there ever since, waiting for the government to allow them to leave the country, refusing to leave their new sons and daughters abandoned again.

This country needs our intercession.  There are an estimated 800,000 children in DRC who have lost both parents, largely due to AIDS*.  Most have little hope of being adopted and absorbed back into their country of birth, their only hope of a family being international adoption.  Can we get on our knees in anguished prayer for these precious ones?

Continue to remember those in prison as if you were together with them in prison, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering. Hebrews 13:3
