I wanted to share this post – it is shared from a dear friend – may it encourage those of you in "the wait"….

His Name(s)

"I am the LORD; that is my name! I will not give my glory to another or my praise to idols."  ~ Isaiah 42:8

There is a worship song I like; it goes, ‘He knows my name.  He knows my every thought.  He sees each tear that falls and He hears me when I call.”  It is supremely comforting to bask in the knowledge that He knows my name.  He sees me!  In the midst of my trials, set amongst billions of people on the planet, I am not insignificant.

I’ve been blessed with so much peace in our adoption wait since my kids went back to school.  Expecting the exact opposite, the calm and contentedness I feel is delightful and surprising, even with just one little one at home part-time nowadays and no matches or possible situations for our domestic adoption on the horizon.  The passage above has been helpful.  Inasmuch as it is comforting to know that He knows MY name… a deep and lasting comfort only comes from ME knowing HIS.

He is El Roi – God Who Sees.

He is Elohim – Strong Creator.

He is El Elyon – The Most High.

He is Jevhovah-Jirah – God Will Provide.

He is Jehovah-El Ehmeth – Lord God of Truth.

He is Jehovah-Shammah – Lord is There.

Lord, you have searched me and you know me, and for that and much more, I’m thankful.  But you are also – day by day, through your Word – revealing yourself to me and allowing ME to know YOU.  You are working all things for your glory, and it is on that rock that I will place my confidence and trust.  Even in life’s trials, and especially during this wait.  I love you so.  Amen.
