Recently I saw a cute little sign that said, “Prayer changes things.”

At first glance I thought it was a catchy phrase of truth.

But I couldn’t get it off my heart.

I know the sweet fellowship with my Father through the discipline of prayer.

I think of Psalm 5:1-3: Give ear to my words, O Lord, consider my sighing.  Listen to my cry for help, my King and my God, for to you I pray.  In the morning, O Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation.

Oh, to start each day in prayer!  We know the closer we are to the Lord, the more our prayers line up with His principles.  And if our prayers line up with His will, then we can certainly wait in expectation.

Prayer is the result and evidence of a relationship with our Heavenly Father, so I want a cute little sign that says, “Prayer changes ME.”
