Through years of infertility and not knowing if we would ever have children, we trusted that God was working in us and through us. We had walked through an adoption journey with some friends in Oklahoma City before moving to Kansas City. They had a really hard situation happen, but we saw through their lens their faith and trust in God. They opened our eyes to adoption and the beautiful picture it is of God adopting us into His family. Then we moved, and Haley was working with someone who was adopting through Zoe’s House, and they had so many great things to say. We contacted them and started the long journey. 2 years later, we received our Yes! We met the most amazing birth family that was carrying our baby boy. We saw and continue to see her sacrificial love for Rayland. We strongly believe in Zoe’s House and their passion for taking care of birth moms and making sure they are well taken care of before, during, and after birth. We believe we are called to care and minister to birth moms, and make them feel and know the love and grace of our God. Birth moms are the strongest women on this earth, and we strive to have the sacrificial love that they embody every day. We thank you again from the bottom of our hearts for your gift of this grant, and we know that you are now a part of our family’s story.
We have learned a whole new level of trusting in God and His perfect plan. We know that God’s timing is perfect, but when you are in the middle of hard times, it becomes blurry at times. We saw this in our first adoption when we were getting the nos, and we just had to trust, but now looking back, we know that God was sculpting the perfect child and birth family for us. Going into adoption #2, we know without a doubt that God’s faithfulness is endless, in good and hard times, and that a no just means He has something better, our perfect child that needs a safe, loving home, and a birth family that needs the love of Christ. Our faith had not really been tested before this. So kind of the same thought. Trust God and talk with him about our disbelief. Our doubts. Our struggles. He hears. He is faithful. He is always with you. Thank you for the opportunity to share, and we are eternally grateful for the sacrificial giving of Katelyn’s Fund. You are now a part of our story, which is such a beautiful thing!
